Getting Started

Activating Boston College Credentials

Every Boston College student, faculty, and staff member has a unique username that is assigned when you first become a member of the AV研究所 community. Your username is usually some variation of your last name. Most electronic services and resources restricted to the AV研究所 community, including email and Agora Portal, require authentication by entering your username and password.听 Click here for detailed information about activating your AV研究所 credentials and creating passwords.

Activating Boston College Email

Boston College provides email services for all affiliated听students, faculty and staff (including part time and visiting faculty and staff). Click here for detailed information on setting up your AV研究所 email address.

IMPORTANT:听Google will prompt you to set up 2-Step Verification. Don鈥檛 delay setting it up. You have 7 days after logging into your Gmail account to set up 2-Step Verification. If you don鈥檛 set it up within 7 days, you will be locked out of your account, and need to contact the AV研究所 ITS Help Center for assistance (617) 552-HELP (4357).

Students will be contacted by the CSTM Admissions Office with new student information and advisor contact information in December. Please contact your advisor to discuss your course selections. After you have met with your advisor, you may contact Cara Burke.听

Activate AV研究所 Zoom Account

All students should activate their AV研究所 Zoom account. This will be used for a number of purposes, including meetings and select class sessions. If you are taking an ONLINE SYNCHRONOUS class, your entire course will be conducted over Zoom.

COURSES FOR CREDIT ($1,370 per credit)

COURSES FOR AUDIT ($685 per audit credit)

The add/drop period ends on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Please make sure that you have registered for all courses (including BTI) by that day.听 If you drop a course after that date, you will be responsible for paying all or a portion of tuition and fees in accordance with the refund schedule.

All Boston College students are issued Eagle One Cards through the Office of Student Services in Lyons Hall. Proof of identification must be presented in order to be issued an Eagle One Card. The initial fee is $50 and will automatically be billed to your student account.

All students enrolled in a degree program, regardless of credit hours, and non-degree students enrolled in at least 7-credits will be automatically enrolled and billed for the Student Health Insurance Plan. Insurance coverage is effective January 9, 2026 through August 6, 2026. The cost is $2,533 for the spring semester. Students who are enrolled in a health plan that is comparable to the UnitedHealthCare plan may waive the AV研究所 coverage through their Agora Portal. The deadline to waive the medical insurance fee is January 23, 2026.听Click here for more information.

Boston College has a pay parking system. All individuals parking at Boston College are required to pay.

Information about purchasing Graduate Student parking permits can be found on the Transportation and Parking webpage. Graduate and Evenings students may register for a permit at any point of the semester via Agora Portal > Accounts and Personal Information > Parking Permits & Citations. Permits may be picked up at the Office of Student Services in Lyons Hall.听

The Transportation and Parking website has interactive maps where you can see in which spaces you are eligible to park based on your Employee or Student Permit. Please consult these maps and observe signage in the parking lots to ensure that you are parking in the appropriate spaces; otherwise you may be ticketed.听

Students are not permitted to park in visitor parking areas. One-day parking passes may be purchased online per day by logging into .听
